Course Description

Family preference immigrant visas allow US citizens and lawful permanent residents to sponsor qualifying relatives unmarried adult children, married children, and siblings for US permanent residence. Unlike immediate relative visas, preference categories are subject to annual numerical limits, resulting in wait times that can span years or decades depending on the category and country of birth. This course explains all preference categories (F1 through F4), the visa bulletin priority date system, and complete processing through NVC and consular stages essential knowledge for consultants handling long-term family reunification planning.
