Sweden grants permanent residence permits after typically three to five years of legal residence, depending on the route and current legislative requirements. The Migrationsverket (Swedish Migration Agency) assesses applications on the basis of continuous residence, self-support capability, and the recently strengthened integration requirement. Significant reforms since 2022 have introduced integration conditions and Swedish language tests for certain categories. This course covers all permanent residence routes through work, family, and study, along with Migrationsverket procedures and the new integration framework essential for consultants handling Sweden-based clients.
