Course Description

New Zealand offers a clear and well structured pathway for partners of New Zealand citizens, residents, and workers to join them in the country. Whether the relationship is a recognised marriage, civil union, or de facto partnership of 12 or more months, INZ provides a direct route to a resident visa. This course teaches you the partnership visa categories, the evidence requirements, and how the process works from first application through to residency.

  Module 1: Partnership Visa Categories and Eligibility Partnership based residency through INZ, three eligible relationship types (marriage, civil union, de facto partnership), 12 month minimum relationship requirement for de facto, sponsor eligibility (NZ citizen, resident, or work visa holder), same sex partnership recognition, and key differences between applying from inside versus outside New Zealand.
  
  Module 2: Relationship Evidence and Application Requirements Evidence of a genuine and stable partnership (joint financial accounts, shared address, communication records, photos, statutory declarations from people who know the couple), financial requirements for work visa holder sponsors, health and character requirements, and police certificates by country.
  
  Module 3: Application Filing, Processing and Residency Grant INZ online application, required document upload, biometric enrollment, processing timelines, the two stage process for some applicants (first a temporary work visa, then residency), and transition to permanent residency and New Zealand citizenship pathway.
