Costa Rica is highly open to international visitors, with visa free access for most Western passport holders and a straightforward consular process for the rest.   Module 1: Costa Rica Visitor Entry Framework Costa Rica's visa free entry for USA, Canada, EU, UK, Australia, Japan, and most of Latin America, maximum permitted stay of 90 days for most visa free nationalities, nationalities requiring a prior consular visa, and the requirement for all visitors to show proof of onward travel or return flights on arrival (consistently enforced by immigration).
  
  Module 2: Tourist Visa for Required Nationalities Costa Rican consulate application, required documents (passport, photographs, return flight, hotel booking, bank statements, employment proof, travel insurance), financial capacity standards, processing timelines, and fee structure.
  
  Module 3: Entry, Onward Travel Requirement and Eco Circuit Immigration clearance at Juan Santamaría International Airport, strict enforcement of onward travel proof at the border (airlines also enforce this), tourism tax at some parks and reserves, and how to advise clients combining Costa Rica with Nicaragua, Panama, or a multi country Central American circuit.
