Course Description

Mexico is one of the world's great travel destinations ancient pyramids, turquoise Caribbean beaches, colonial cities, and extraordinary food draw over 40 million visitors every year. Most nationalities can enter Mexico with just a passport, but for those that require a visa, the Mexican consulate has specific requirements that differ from European or North American consular processes. This course covers the full visitor visa process for Mexico, the FMM tourist card, and everything professionals need to handle Mexico bound clients confidently.

    Module 1: Mexico Tourist Entry Visa Free Nationalities, the FMM Card and Those Who Need a Visa List of nationalities that enter Mexico visa free and receive an FMM (Forma Migratoria Multiple) tourist card on arrival, nationalities that require a prior issued Mexican visitor visa, distinction between a tourist visit and a transit through Mexico, maximum permitted stay on the FMM (180 days for most nationalities), and how the FMM works as an arrival card rather than a visa.

    Module 2: Mexican Visitor Visa Application and Required Documents Mexican consulate or embassy application for visa required nationalities, required documents covering passport, application form, passport photograph, proof of legal residence in the applicant's current country, round trip flight itinerary, hotel bookings, bank statements showing sufficient funds, employment letter or business registration, and purpose of visit statement. Mexican consulates also consider prior travel history and legal residence status in the applicant's home country as important factors.

    Module 3: Entry at Mexican Airports, Duration of Stay and Extension Port of entry at major Mexican airports including Mexico City, Cancun, Los Cabos, and Guadalajara, FMM card completion on arrival, immigration officer's authority to determine length of stay, extension of tourist stay through the Instituto Nacional de Migración (INM), activities not permitted on a tourist visa, and important guidance for clients transiting through Mexico to a third country.
