Cyprus sits at the meeting point of Europe, the Middle East, and North Africa an island with ancient ruins, crystal clear waters, and a year round tourism season. As an EU member, Cyprus processes its own national short stay visa for visitors from countries that require one. Unlike most other EU destinations, Cyprus is not part of the Schengen Area, which means a Cyprus visitor visa does not grant access to the wider Schengen zone.   Module 1: Cyprus Visitor Visa and Why It Differs from Schengen Cyprus as an EU member that is not part of the Schengen Area, what this means for visa applicants (a Cyprus visa does not allow travel to other EU Schengen countries), the Cyprus Uniform Short Stay Visa (USSV) for tourism and family visits, permitted stay duration (up to 90 days), visa free nationalities for Cyprus, and which nationalities need a prior visa.

  Module 3: Entry, Stay Conditions and Common Mistakes Port of entry at Larnaca or Paphos international airports, customs clearance, maximum stay calculation (up to 90 days in any 180 day period within Cyprus only), common reasons for refusal, the important note about travelling onward to Schengen countries requiring a separate Schengen visa, and how to advise clients combining a Cyprus trip with a Schengen itinerary.
