Course Description

Norway is not in the EU but as an EEA member, it has a strong economy, an urgent need for skilled workers, and one of the highest wages in the world. For professionals from outside the EU and EEA, Norway offers a Skilled Worker Permit with a straightforward process. Oil and gas, maritime, construction, healthcare, and technology are all actively hiring. This course teaches you the Norwegian Directorate of Immigration (UDI) process, documentation standards, and how to transition from a work permit to permanent residency.

What You'll Learn?

• Modules
  Module 1: Norwegian Work Permit System and Eligibility Skilled Worker Permit for qualified professionals from outside the EU and EEA, completed higher education or vocational training equivalent to Norwegian standards, job offer from a Norwegian employer as the foundation, UDI as the governing authority, and an overview of Norway's labour market and most in demand sectors.
  
  Module 2: Application Through the SUA Portal Norwegian Service Centre for Foreign Workers (SUA) and UDI online application portal, employer's supporting documentation (confirmation of employment, Norwegian business registration), required worker documents (degree and transcript, criminal record, passport, employment contract), financial sufficiency proof, and processing timelines.
  
  Module 3: Residence Permit Issuance and Work Start Norwegian residence permit (oppholdstillatelse) explained, biometric permit card, registration with the National Population Register (Folkeregisteret), Norwegian D number and then national ID number, tax card application, and healthcare and social insurance enrolment through NAV.
  
  Module 4: Permit Renewal and Permanent Residency Annual or multi year permit renewal, the 3 year qualifying period for a permanent residence permit in Norway, Norwegian language requirement for permanent residence (B1 level), and pathway to Norwegian citizenship after 7 years.
