Course Description

Chile is one of South America's most stable and sophisticated countries the dramatic landscapes of Chilean Patagonia and Torres del Paine, the Atacama Desert, the wine valleys, Easter Island's moai statues, and Santiago's world class gastronomy and culture make it one of the continent's most compelling destinations. Chile is highly accessible, with visa free entry for the majority of nationalities. For visa consultants, understanding Chile's open tourism policy and the small group that requires a visa is the core of this course.

    Module 1: Chile Visitor Entry Framework and Visa Free Access Chile's visa free entry for the vast majority of nationalities (EU, USA, Canada, Australia, UK, Japan, and most of Latin America), maximum permitted stay (typically 90 days, extendable), nationalities requiring a prior issued visa (limited list), permitted tourist activities, and Chile's entry requirements for all arrivals (Declaración Jurada de Salud form, now managed digitally through the Mobility form).

    Module 2: Tourist Visa Application for Required Nationalities Chilean consulate or embassy application for visa required nationalities, required documents (passport, application form, photograph, return flights, hotel booking, financial proof, travel insurance), financial capacity standards, processing timelines, and extension of stay process through the Department of Immigration (Departamento de Extranjería).

    Module 3: Entry at Santiago and South American Circuit Planning Immigration clearance at Santiago Arturo Merino Benítez International Airport, tourism police and entry documentation, maximum 90 day stay and extension rules, important health and agricultural entry restrictions (no fresh food into Chile strictly enforced), and practical advice for clients combining Chile with Argentina, Peru, or Bolivia in a South American circuit.
