Course Description

Malta is a small but dynamic EU and Schengen member state with a growing reputation for English language education and professional training courses. Students from outside the EU and EEA need a long stay student visa (Type D) and a residence permit issued by Identità (formerly Identity Malta). This course covers the complete process from course selection and visa filing to arrival and study rights on the island.

  Module 1: Malta Education Landscape and Course Selection University of Malta, Malta College of Arts, Science and Technology (MCAST), English language schools and short courses, MFHEA (Malta Further and Higher Education Authority) accredited institutions, IELTS requirements, tuition fees, and official admission letter.
  
  Module 2: Long Stay Visa and Residence Permit Type D student visa application at the Maltese consulate (or High Commission), required documents (admission letter, financial proof approximately EUR 500 per month as reference, health insurance, accommodation), processing timelines, and single permit (residence and study authorisation combined) through Identità after arrival.
  
  Module 3: Arrival, Permit Collection and Student Rights Identity card and residence permit collection at Identità, Maltese address registration, health insurance under the Maltese public health system (partial access for students), work rights during studies (up to 20 hours per week), and permit renewal process before the permit expires.
