Italy Work Visa 2027: Key Dates for Bangladeshis Under the New Quota

Italy is one of the few European countries that regularly opens work visas for people from countries such as Bangladesh. Every year, it sets quotas for seasonal and non seasonal jobs. The 2027 round is now getting ready.
According to official guidance published on 1 October 2026, Italy plans 165,850 work entries for 2027. Employers can prepare applications from 23 October to 7 December 2026, and the real filing days start in January 2027. Here is what that means for you.
| Type of work | Places in 2027 |
|---|---|
| Seasonal work in agriculture and tourism | 89,000 |
| Non seasonal employment | 76,200, including 14,000 for family care |
| Self employment | 650 |
| Total | 165,850 |
Applications open at 9 in the morning Italian time on each click day and can be filed until 31 December 2027 while places remain.
This is the most important point. You do not apply yourself at first. An employer in Italy files the request for a work permit on the Interior Ministry’s online portal. If approved, you then apply for the visa at the Italian Embassy in Dhaka with the permit.
In past years, forged work permits and fake documents caused long delays for Bangladeshi applicants. Italy suspended some permits issued before 22 October 2024 for checks, and criminal investigations followed. Thousands of genuine applicants were left waiting because of this fraud.
The Bangladesh government has warned people not to pay brokers. Paying for a permit can lead to visa cancellation and legal trouble.
If you have real contacts with an Italian employer, ask them to prepare during the precompilation window. Keep your passport valid, gather your work experience letters and learn some basic Italian. Good preparation can make a big difference once you arrive.
Seasonal permits are for work that lasts part of the year, such as farm harvests or summer tourism jobs. They are usually shorter and end when the season ends. Non seasonal permits are for longer term jobs in sectors such as construction, manufacturing, transport and care work. They can lead to a longer stay if you keep your job and follow the rules.
The largest share of places in 2027 is for seasonal work. If you have farm or hotel experience, this may be the most realistic route. If you have skills in construction or factory work, ask whether your employer is applying under the non seasonal quota.
Places are filled quickly on click days, and many employers submit at the same time. Even a genuine application may not succeed if quotas run out. Do not resign from your current job or sell property until your work permit has been approved and your visa is issued. Planning for delays is part of a safe migration plan.
Once in Italy, you must apply for your residence permit within the set time. Keep copies of your contract, permit and visa, and register with the Bangladesh Embassy in Rome so you can get help if needed.
For families, the decision to send a member to Italy is often a big investment. Discuss the full cost honestly, including travel, accommodation in the first weeks and living costs until the first salary arrives. Genuine employers and official processes keep these costs reasonable, while brokers often inflate them.
Keep in mind that Italy, like other European countries, checks documents carefully at every stage. Your passport, police clearance, work experience letters and any certificates should be genuine and consistent. If something is translated, use a recognised translator. A single false paper can lead to refusal and can stay on your record for future applications to Europe.
The dates and numbers above come from official Italian guidance published in October 2026. Rules, fees and dates change, so check the official government website on the day you act. Italy’s 2027 quota is large, but only real employers can apply. Mark the click days, avoid anyone selling permits and make sure your documents are genuine.
