Hong Kong’s transit immigration framework depends on the traveller’s nationality, travel document, transit arrangements and whether the traveller remains within the airport transit area. Some travellers may transit visa-free, while others require a visa or entry permit before travelling. This training covers Hong Kong transit visa requirements, direct airside transit, visa exemptions, onward-ticket requirements, nationality-specific rules and application documentation. It also addresses the special pre-arrival registration requirement applicable to eligible Indian nationals when entering or transiting Hong Kong outside direct airside transit.
