Course Description
The Netherlands Orientation Year residence permit, commonly known as the Zoekjaar, allows eligible highly educated persons to stay in the Netherlands for one year to look for employment or establish a business. Eligibility can arise through qualifying Dutch or designated foreign education, doctoral study or scientific research. This training provides immigration professionals with practical knowledge of qualification requirements, foreign diploma assessment, application procedures, employment rights, documentation and post-Orientation Year options. The course is designed for immigration consultants, education advisers, visa filing professionals and caseworkers handling Netherlands study-to-work immigration cases. Yes. The Orientation Year permit provides free access to the Dutch labour market, meaning the holder can work without an employer obtaining a separate work permit. The permit is valid for one year and cannot itself be extended. After finding suitable employment, the holder may apply for another qualifying residence permit.
